Good Morning Capay! I want to let you know that this Saturday, August 20th, from 8:00 - 12:00, there will be a community work day at school to prepare the campus for the school year! We will be weeding, sweeping, raking, repairing sprinklers and anything else that can be done to tidy up the campus for the start of school! If you are able to come for part or all of the time you will want to bring some gloves, a rake, hoe, round point shovel and /or a broom. We are also looking for anyone with expertise or knowledge with gas pipe assembly, irrigation, trenching and brick laying to help complete some other projects at a later date. Please call the school or send me an email if you have questions. As always, thank you for supporting our students, staff and school!
The nomination period for the Capay School Board has been extended to Friday, August 19th. If you are interested on being part of the Capay School Board, please go to the Elections Office in Willows or Red Bluff to fill out the proper paperwork.

I hope everyone is having a great summer! As we prepare for the upcoming school year, a PTO meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 26th from 5-7 pm. The meeting will be held at the Orland Round Table. The meeting will focus on the purpose of PTO and how PTO can support and enhance the education of our students at Capay. All parents and supporters are welcome to attend! What ever time and support anyone is able to give is always appreciated! Look forward to seeing you there!
Capay Elementary School is accepting applications for a highly qualified, 1st grade classroom teacher and a highly qualified 8th grade classroom teacher for the 2022/2023 school year. These positions will work collaboratively with our Kindergarten and 2nd grade teachers and our 6th and 7th grade teachers respectively to provide a rich learning experience for our students. Desired qualifications: California multiple subject or single subject teaching credential w/CLAD, BCLAD or SDAIE certification. Salary $48,882 - $67,384 DOE + Full benefit package that includes medical, dental, vision and life insurance. The district also accepts up to 12 years experience for placement on the salary schedule. Tomorrow, 6/14, is Flag day & USA dress up day at school. We are asking everyone to were red, white, and blue in spirit of Flag day. The most patriotic class will win the spirit stick! Go Colts
Big things are happening this week at Capay school, here is a little update on it all. Tomorrow is Flag day and in spirit we are asking everyone to wear red, white, and blue. Wednesday morning at 9am in the cafeteria we are hosting the Capay School talent show, friends and family are invited. Thursday the 4th grade class will be headed out to Lassen National Park, look for pictures on our Facebook page to come. And to finish this fun week off, we are having the Colt Bolt rewarded Dunk Tank Friday afternoon! Go Colts

Tomorrow is mini K day at 1pm in the cafeteria. We are excited to welcome all the incoming kindergartners to Capay School. If you know or have an incoming kindergartner please remember that this Friday, June 3rd you are welcome to come and meet your teacher and see your class room.

We are unable to provide bus service for the remainder of this school year. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause not having morning or afternoon bus service, please make other arrangements. We do offer an afterschool program, Colt Club, that is open until 6pm. You are welcome to enroll your student at any time. Tomorrow is the Turtle Bay Field Trip day for our 1st, 3rd & 4th graders. Remember to wear good shoes, pack a personal water bottle and get plenty of rest because tomorrow is going to be fun! Also remember no afterschool bus service tomorrow, Friday 5/27.
Happy Monday Capay school families. It's unfortunate news, but we have to cancel the Capay School Track meet scheduled for this Thursday May 26th. We will try again next year. The good news is we are geared up and ready for Tour De Capay at the school this Saturday May 28th @ 9:00. Bring your bikes, your helmets, and your smiles. There will be root beer floats to celebrate with too!
